Dormer, born 11 February 1982 was an English actress from England. Her awards
include an Empire Award, and receiving nominations for an Critics'' Choice
Award along with two Gemini Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Born in
Reading, Berkshire, Dormer had her breakthrough playing the character of Anne
Boleyn on the Showtime show The Tudors (2007-08), which won her wide acclaim.
Her stage debut was in the show Sweet Nothings (2010). She also appeared in the
Sweet Nothings (2010) and portrayed the Duchess of York in Madonna's movie W.E.
(2011) and Private Lorraine in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011). The
Young Vic praised her performance in After Miss Julie (2012). Dormer gained
international attention and accolades for her performance as Margaery Tyrell on
the HBO series Game of Thrones (2012-2016) and Cressida in the last two
segments of The Hunger Games franchise (2014-2015) and are among her
highest-grossing film. Dormer has also played Irene Adler/Moriarty in the CBS
series Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price in The Forest (2016) and
also voiced Onica in the series The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). She
earned praise for her performance in the mini-series Penny Dreadful: City of
Angels (2020). Dormer was born on 11 February 1982 in Reading, Berkshire
(England) as the daughter of Gary Dormer & Claire Richards. She is also
the sister of Samantha Dormer and Mark Dormer.
