Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born on May 3rd, 1986. She attended the Cours Florent drama school, Paris. She has appeared in films like Loup 2009, Sleepless Night 2011 and Hacker's Game 2015. She portrays the role of Mantis in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City to a Korean father and a French-Russian mom. He was working as a consul with the French government. Eugene Klementieff was her grandfather. Pom was her name because it sounds similar to the Korean words "spring" and "tiger" in Korean. Klementieff was in Canada for one year before her family went on a long trip because of her father's job. They lived in Japan and the Ivory Coast, before settling in France. The father of Klementieff died from cancer when she was five, and her mother had schizophrenia and was unable to take care of children, so Klementieff was cared for by her paternal uncle and aunt. Her uncle, who she stated in her own words as "like her first father," died on Klementieff’s 18th birthday. Her older brother died seven years after his death. This time, it was the 25th anniversary of her birth. After the death of her uncle Klementieff attended law school briefly to satisfy her aunt. However, she didn't feel that the field was attractive to her. She also worked as an waitress in France as well as a salesperson. She began acting when was 19and attended the Cours Florent theatre school in Paris. After her studies were completed and gaining a competition in theater that gave her two years of tuition along with the most renowned instructors at the school. Klementieff was the first actress to perform professionally in the independent French film Apres lui (2007). She played the role of the step-daughter of the main character, Catherine Deneuve. The filming took place over three days to capture her scenes. In one scene, Klementieff was to be pushed down a set of stairs however, she fell down the stairs herself, and director Gael Morel kept that shot in the final film. Loup (2009) is which is a French film that focuses on the Siberian reindeer herders, was her first significant role. The actress filmed for hours in an isolated camp away from the nearest village. The temperature dropped to below zero during filming.
